Progressive Safety Footwear & Clothing Ltd was founded by John Topham in 1961.

John started out selling steel toecap boots to miners  from premises, in the Old Vinegar Brewery in the East End of Sheffield.

Some 25 years later in 1995, the company moved into their current premises,a  34,000sq ft Distribution Centre Headquarters in Darnall, Sheffield.

Today the company employs over 60 at its headquarters and has a strong salesforce working throughout the country.

In 2008, Progressive Safety was awarded the exclusive licence for the UK and Ireland to manufacture a range of safety footwear under the world-renowned JCB brand.

 JCB footwear takes advantage of the best of modern technology, incorporating the following technology in its footwear manufacture:

Antistatic, Composite Midsole, Dual Density, Heat and Slip Resistance, Breathability and many other features, into its products.

As a result, JCB Safety Boots are one of the leading brands of safety boots in the UK, offering unbeatable protection and style that suits the majority of jobs, occupations and industries.

Footwear is made for both men and women and some products are unisex.
