Elten Safety Boots,Elten Safety Shoes.

In 1910 the founder of Elten safety boots, Johann van Elten made a new type of safety shoe.

This was made out of leather instead of wood.

Previously the only protection available was by the wearing of sabots a type of wooden clog fashioned to enclose the complete foot of the wearer.

For the next 100 years the company has built up a European wide reputation by insisting on the highest quality standards.

It also uses innovative foot protection technologies and cooperates with leading scientific institutions and usrs their input to constantly improve their products.

Today the makers of Elten Safety boots and Elten safety shoes are one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of quality safety and work footwear.

They produce approximately 2 million pairs of shoes each year in their factory in Uedem on the Lower Rhine in Germany.

In 2015 the company opened a new factory in Slovakia where the Elten basics and other brands are now being made.

Uedem will still remain the centre of the company and further expansion will be also be made here in the future.

Elten safety shoes give the wearer a genuine feeling of safety. And  it’s an impression that is not misplaced.

A safety shoe for a building worker looks different from protective footwear for a fire-fighter, this also applies to other workplaces

Women’s models are designed on a special women’s shoe last that takes into account the specific physical characteristics of a woman’s foot, rather than being simply based on the same last as men’s shoes, as is so often the case.

Safety and Environment.

All Elten Safety Boots and safety shoes are certified in accordance with EN ISO 20345.which  specifies the requirements for protective footwear in Europe.

Elten are very concious of the enviromental aspect in their manufacturing and are at pains to reduce  CO2 emissions and keep the use of chemicals to a minimum thus protecting the environment and the health of the wearer.

Collaboration.

Since 2006 Elten have colaberated with Lowa Sportsschuh in footwear development.LOWA BOOTS has been,for over 90 years,acclaimed as the finest outdoor boots in the world by climbers, mountaineers and hikers.
